Welcome to U.T. of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu

Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, located in the western part of India, share a unique position geographically. The union territory borders the Arabian Sea to the west, as well as Maharashtra and Gujarat to the north and south.

Before January 2020, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu were separate Union Territories, each with its own administration. However, on January 26, 2020, the Indian government officially merged the two UTs into one unified entity—Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

This merger resulted in a more consolidated administrative structure, with three districts now under the combined Union Territory: Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman, and Diu. The merger aimed to improve governance, enhance infrastructure, and streamline administrative processes within the region.

The region has a growing industrial sector, with a strong presence of manufacturing, chemicals, textiles, and pharmaceuticals. The industrial zones in Daman and Silvassa are popular for attracting businesses due to the tax incentives and better infrastructure. The coastal region of Daman and Diu is well-known for its beaches, forts, and historical landmarks, attracting domestic and international tourists. Dadra and Nagar Haveli, with its natural beauty, lush greenery, and rivers, is a popular destination for eco-tourism.

Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu signed the Letter of Undertaking (LoU) with the Ministry of MSME, Government of India on September 2023 . It submitted its Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) on 17th December 2024 and RPC approved projects worth Rs. 58.24 Cr for Manipur.
